Governor Sanwo-Olu Commission’s New Waterways Monitoring And Data Management Center In Falomo, Ikoyi

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday commissioned the newly set up Waterways Monitoring and Data Management Centre (WMDMC) on the Five Cowrie Terminal — the headquarters of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) in Falomo, Ikoyi.
The Data Management Centre, that is first of its kind in the country, is a centralised tracking base for all activities on the Lagos Waterways. By the technology, LASWA is now empowered to generate real-time information, enhance protection, and collect information for non-stop development of the inland waterways.
Governor Sanwo-Olu additionally unveiled an advanced DJI Aerial Drone for surface surveillance and BlueEye Pro drone for underwater search and rescue operations, as well as handed over units of computerized U-SAFE rescuing devices for emergency evacuation.
Sanwo-Olu, on the occasion nicely attended by private operators, inaugurated LASWA Search and Rescue Unit (SAR), so that it will be accountable for patrolling and implementing the state’s waterways guidelines and regulation.
